Challenge

The owners of the Faroese car rental company “Rent Your Car”, Tór av Skarði and Jákup Breckmann, wanted to bounce back strongly and maximize their results in 2021 after an exceptionally difficult year for the Faroese tourism industry in 2020.

Naturally, this downturn also impacted the car rental market in the Faroe Islands, with significantly fewer tourists visiting the country.

Stage 1

Solution

In February 2021, we took on the responsibility of managing and optimizing their advertising campaigns on Google and Facebook. This allowed them to focus on running and growing their business.

Visibility on Google is especially crucial, as half of the online revenue in this industry comes from searching customers—primarily foreign visitors looking for terms like “car rental in the Faroe Islands.” Our goal was to ensure that Rent Your Car ranked at the top of Google search results.

Stage 2

The Result

Rent Your Car had set revenue targets for the year in advance. By October, we could already confirm that they had achieved their annual revenue goal—a full three months before the end of the year.

A significant portion of their revenue came from Google, where we saw an impressive Return on Ad Spend (ROAS) of 21x. This means that for every króna spent on ads, they generated 21 kr. in sales.
